Courses: Navigating the Course

Main Screen

The Main Screen is where all demonstrations and interactions occur. The Next button advances the topic. The Back button moves to the previous topic. The Replay button replays the current topic.

Sidebar Buttons

Step-by-Step - click on this button to see each task broken down into steps.

Supertech - get advanced tips and techniques by clicking this button.

Integration Idea - find curriculum integration ideas you can use in your classroom.

Lesson Plan - start a new lesson plan, view the lesson plan library and lesson plans used in the course.

Teacher Tools - link to a variety of teacher tools such as education news, certification information, and the integrate listserv.

Character Audio

If you want to listen to the character read the audio text, click on the speaker icon underneath the character.

The speaker icon will begin to animate, and you will hear the character speaking. To turn off character audio, click the speaker icon again.

Control Buttons

Contents - Opens the Table of Contents for the course.

Search - Opens the search window so you can find specific topics, glossary items, or lesson plans.

Help - Opens PDMS Help.

Exit - Exits the course you are currently in and takes you back to the PDMS screen.

Turns off the MAP Feature.

My Assessment Path (MAP)

This feature uses your assessment score to determine which topics you need to view. While navigating topics within a course, the blue topics will be skipped. When you start a course, this feature is turned off by default.

Green Text

Topics recommended for your viewing.

Blue Text

Topics in which you have shown proficiency.

Topics Viewed

Indicates which topics have been viewed.

Current Topic

Indicates the topic currently being viewed.

Demonstration Topics

These topics demonstrate tasks and concepts.

Interactive Topics

These topics help you learn new skills through hands-on interaction. The topic will proceed automatically as you complete the tasks.
